Hank and Jim Rainey returned to the Bounder just as Helen was finished printing out copies of the cropped band photo showing the shaved head suspect. She handed copies to Hank and Jim and said, “The suspect’s face came out pretty good. I was able to sharpen it up a bit.”

Jim Rainey perused the photo and said, “This will be really helpful when we question the campers, good job. How many campers do we need to interview?”

“I thought at first the number would be the five that you had mentioned in your case file,” Hank replied. “But now with the introduction of the photo, I think we should question all seventeen campers that are here who were also here in two thousand three. Also Mr. Higgins the fireworks vendor.”

“You’re right, Hank. If we’re lucky one of the seventeen might recall the suspect camping right next door. A young person with a shaved head should be easy to remember.”

“We’ll NEED to get lucky with a case this cold,” Hank replied.

“Well, how do you want to handle the interviews? Do we split up or interview them all together?” Rainey asked.

Hank thought a moment and then replied, “I think it’s best if the three of us stick together. One of us might think of an important question to ask that the others missed. It will take longer but it will be more thorough.”

“I think you are right with us sticking together, Hank. Where do we start? Rainey asked.

Helen had circled the seventeen camper’s sites on a campground map that was given to her when they registered at check-in. “I think a good place to start is with the Arnolds back behind us in site three and work our way around the circle and then up to the Weavers in site forty-nine,” Helen suggested.

“Ok, let’s go,” Hank said with growing excitement hoping a solid lead as to the murderer of Sarah Payne will shortly be found.
